When we started talking about poetry (see Sleepwalk on the Severn) below, lots of people made contact with suggestions. One of the best suggestions was to feature Peter Wyton, a local legend whose Rogue River poem also captured the nature of the River Severn. Other rivers assault you with violent force, the Severn slips something into your drink.
